About Johor

Properties for Rent in Johor

Johor is one of the states in Malaysia. It is located on the southern most end of the country, neighbouring Singapore. The capital of the state is the city of Johor Bahru, which is located literally beside Singapore. Due to the massive size of this state which can take up to three hours to drive from border to border, there are numerous districts and towns scattered far and between each other such as Batu Pahat, Mersing, Muar and Kluang. These small towns are connected via highways and inner roads, and each town has its own specialty; especially when it comes to food.

The state of Johor is prosperous, and the people of Johor are very well taken care of whether they live in the capital or in one of the far-flung towns. It is even of the opinion of many that Johor residents are even more well cared for by the state than those who live in the country’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The roads in Johor are of far better condition than those in Kuala Lumpur, and every single household has three recycle bins outside of their homes to encourage recycling, one bin for paper, another for plastic and another for et cetera.

Situated literally beside the far more modern and high tech country of Singapore, the state of Johor has been rapidly developing to international standards along the borders of the state in Johor Bahru. The long term redevelopment of the southern tip of Malaysia to Iskandar Malaysia has also drawn many international investors and developers.

The state of Johor also carries some of the many firsts in Malaysia. The first Hello Kitty Town outside of Japan is located within Johor, and the state is also the first to have a large scale educity in the country. Johor is also host to the Malaysian Pinewood studios which holds much appeal to movie makers due to the cheap labour cost in the country and the weaker Malaysian currency which will translate to lower costs for movie makers.

With the forward planning of the state of Johor, the state has been advancing in leaps and bounds over the years and has been increasing in population size as well. With their many innovative advancements, it is expected that Johor will become increasingly more prosperous in the coming years.
