Bandar Baru Putra is a leasehold matured neighbourhood situated in Bercham, Ipoh. Nearby places include Taman Putra Indah, Taman Putra Permai and Desa Putra Indah.
The place has a mixture of 1-storey and 2-storey houses, with a built-up size starts from 1,200 sf and the price is said to about RM150 psf. It's very much suitable for those with medium family size. Since it has been around for a long time, do take note that most of the houses here have been renovated and refurbished.
What's great about this area is that it has enough amenities to provide for the locals' needs. There are a few eateries, petrol station, convenience and groceries stores for everyday convenience. Not only that, Tesco Extra or Aeon Kinta City are also nearby, which is about 10-minute's drive away. An open field is also made available for the kids to play around or the adults to spend their evening doing healthy activities.
Within the neighbourhood itself, there is a mosque for the Muslims and a temple for the Hindus. This shows how 1 Malaysia this place is. A number of schools are also available within Bandar Baru Putra, namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Putra, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Putera and Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Al-Muttaqin.
As for the location, the neighbourhood is not too far off from the city area. It only takes about 24-minute of driving to Ipoh city centre via Jalan Dihilir and Jalan Bercham. Meanwhile, North South Expressway (NSE) Jelapang exit is about a 26 minutes journey from Bandar Baru Putra. If you are feeling a little bit adventurous, you can head to Tambun, which is just 15 minutes away.
Traffic wise, it is pretty smooth here, except for roads near traffic lights. With that being said; it's way better if you were to compare to Kuala Lumpur's traffic.
