About Kajang
Kajang is a small township located half an hour away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. Previously a sleepy and laid-back town, it is now increasing gradually in population as those who cannot afford the prices of homes in the city centre are being driven to the outskirts.
Founded in the early 70s, Kajang owes its rise to modernity to the coffee estates that opened in the area in the late 18th century. In current times, it is famous enough for its satay that it has become a local attraction. There is a glut of food options (not just satay), with a lot of them centred in the town centre. There are also hypermarkets like Tesco where locals can shop for groceries. Most residents flock to Kajang Square to get some outdoor time in. The famous stadium had been demolished in 2014 and turned into a public square with a basketball court, children’s playground, and a fitness station. For more family fun, the Bangi Wonderland Theme Park and Resort is a 30 min drive away.
Kajang has multiple shopping complexes including Billion Shopping Center, Metro Plaza Kajang, Metro Point, and Kompleks Kota Kajang. Metro Avenue is a new shopping district located opposite SMJK Yu Hua Kajang and Kajang High School. Private medical centres function 24 hours and include facilities such as Poliklinik MUC @Metro Point, Klinik Mediviron Prima Saujana, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre (KPMC), and KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital.
The development of this town is on the rise with more and more developers recognizing its potential. Residents of Kajang will find it extremely convenient travelling to the city with the many highways connecting the area, while the Bandar Kajang MRT Station will further shorten travel time to the city centre.
Kajang is perfect for growing families looking for an abundance of space while being close to the city.
