Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) bagged the prestigious Gold Award at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) event that took place in Melbourne Australia yesterday.

The developer was also enlisted as one of four finalists for the Work, Health & Safety Reporting Special Award.

The annual ARA is known for the high standards of its adjudication process with awards submissions coming from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philipines, Qatar, Sri Lanka and Russia.

Prior to the determining winners, participating companies would submit individual annual reports to the ARA organisation. These entries would then be reviewed by a panel of three expert members that would asses based on comprehensiveness and transparency.

MRCB’s Cheif Corporate Officer, Amarjit Chinna who accepted the award on behalf of MRCB expressed, “we are very honoured to have won the prestigious Gold Award for our 2017 Annual Report. Winning the independent and esteemed award for two consecutive years is a testimony of our continuous commitment toward improving governance, transparency and disclosure of information to our stakeholders; all areas focused on during MRCB’s Five-Year Corporate Transformation journey.”

“Today, not only has our Corporate Transformation journey translated into improved corporate sustainability, but it has also strengthened MRCB’s corporate governance. This Gold Award further validates our efforts in upholding the highest standards of reporting as well as stakeholder communication.”

The prestigious Gold Award is in its 69th year thus several popular establishments have clinched the award in the past. These include; the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), New Zealand Superannuation Fund (NZSF), Audit Office of New South Wales (AONSW) and CLP Holdings Ltd.

Established in 1950, the annual ARA is administered by the Australasian Reporting Awards Ltd, an independent not-for-profit organisation run by volunteer professionals from the business, government and not-for-profit sectors, with the support of professional bodies concerned on the quality of financial and business reporting.
