Translated to Bamboo River in English, Sungai Buloh is a subdistrict of Petaling and is located close to the borders of Gombak. In the early stages of development, Sungai Buloh was a designated to be a segregated community to conduct research and house victims of leprosy. Over the years, Sungai Buloh grew and it is now known to be a centre where commercial nurseries of plants and flowers thrive.

Being located on the outskirts of the city, property in Sungai Buloh is generally known to be quite affordable. Property development has however begun to pick up over the years with the success of Kota Damansara, of which Sungai Buloh is located just beside. With transportation to and fro this township beginning to improve with new roads and the new MRT station coming up, the value of property in Sungai Buloh is expected to pick up drastically in the coming years.

Located at just a short drive away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur and Damansara Utama, some of the original and highly successful high-end developments of this district are Valencia, Sierramas and Bukit Rahman Putra. Units in the luxurious neighbourhood of Valencia ranges from RM1.7 million and above, while the average starting price of units in Sierrramas begins from RM3 million.
